Last week, I shared with you 5 Tips for Hosting and Surviving Holidays with Extended Family. One of the biggest stressors at big family get-togethers is food. Today, I’m going to help you feed a holiday crowd without breaking the bank.
Disclaimer: I am a Blue Diamond Ambassador for Petit Jean Meats. I only promote their products because I love them. All opinions are my own.
Petit Jean Meats just released their Signature Gift Box. The box includes a 7-9 pound half spiral ham, 24 ounces of hickory smoked bacon and 24 ounces of peppered bacon. You can grab one of these gift boxes for only $74.99 and there is enough meat to feed a BUNCH of people for several meals.

Did you know that a half spiral ham can serve 10-14 people as a main dish? If you are also serving another meat, such as turkey, you can feed 20-24 people or expect to have some leftovers with a smaller crowd. So in other words, this ham will feed a lot of people!
We tend to think of bacon as a breakfast meat but it is really quite versatile. With 48 ounces of bacon in the Signature Gift Box, there is plenty to go around this holiday season.
Glazed Spiral Ham
Spiral ham is my favorite type of ham. Since it’s pre-sliced it is easy to serve. Since it is pre-cooked its easy and fast to prepare. You can cook a spiral ham as it is or you can make a glaze to pour over it while it cooks. I love how the glaze gets between the slices and everything becomes sweet and delicious.
There are literally thousands of glaze recipes out there so it can be difficult to pick one. If you don’t have a family favorite I would recommend my Hard Cider Glazed Ham which I shared on the Petit Jean Meats Blog a few years ago. The flavor is warm and spicy and compliments the fall season perfectly.
Needing some sides to serve along with the ham? Here are a few of my favorites:
One of the best things about a big ham is the leftovers. Ham leftovers can be repurposed in so many ways! Check out the 7 Day Ham Plan for a host of ways to use up that leftover ham!
Have you ever had peppered bacon? It is SO good. The edges are coated with a cracked pepper and it is just the right amount of spicy.
Peppered bacon is great for breakfast. Serve it with some farm-fresh eggs, toast, and a smattering of home fried potatoes and you have a meal. A package of Petit Jean Peppered Bacon has around 26 slices. If you planned on four slices per person you could easily feed six people. Three slices and you can feed eight. Bonus slices always go to the cook of course!
Hickory Smoked Bacon
The Hickory Smoked Bacon is my favorite Petit Jean product and I always have a package in my fridge and a few in the freezer.
The Hickory Smoked Bacon is thick, but not too thick. Smokey, but not too smoky. It always cooks up perfect. This is my go to bacon for just about everything. It is great for breakfast, on a sandwich, in a salad, and my favorite way to use it is in my Bacon Sticky Date Cake.
Petit Jean Meats
Petit Jean Meats are smoked at their plant in Morrilton using real hickory smoke, not just added smoke flavor. You can read more about their process on a recent article I wrote for OnlyInArk.com.
I absolutely love Petit Jean bacon and it is the only bacon I buy. Fortunately for me, my local Walmart and my local Harps both carry a variety of their products. If you live outside of Arkansas it may be a little more difficult to find your favorite Petit Jean Product. Luckily, they have a great mail order program and will ship to ALL 50 states!
Hop on over to Petit Jean Meats and be sure to check out the Signature Gift Box. Check out all of their other products while you are there. When you place your order, get 10% off your order by using the code below. Now that’s a great deal!
