California Board Company Nautic Pros: This board is considerably cheaper than other comparable boards on the market.
The board is very stable in the water. It glides nicely on calm water and tracks fairly straight with only minor corrections needed.
This board is great for people of varying heights and weights although tall people may be more comfortable on a slightly longer board.
The multicolor board is bright and fun for the water. It is gender neutral in color and not a trendy color that will go out of style in a season. The board also comes in a brown wood-like colorway.
California Board Company Nautic Cons: This board will not win you any speed races. When the water is even slightly choppy you will notice a lot of drag on this board.
The pump works well but plan for a workout before you ever get on the water. (Better yet, invest in an electric pump!)
After a year of use, my board valve regularly became leaky. This is totally fixable (see my video here) but make sure you always have your repair kit and valve wrench handy.
Overall Opinion:
My California Board Company Nautic 11′ was the perfect starter board. The convenience of the inflatable paired with the affordable price made it an easy choice. It performs great on the water for leisurely paddles and day trip adventures. Once I began paddling longer distances and desired more speed it was time to upgrade. I would highly recommend this board to any beginning paddler who wants to learn the sport without making a major investment.
