Reading is one of my favorite activities to do while camping. Relaxing in a chair or a hammock with a good book often leads to a nice nap but I can usually knock out a book or two in a few days while camping and this list of 12 Outdoor Adventure Books for Outdoor Lovers includes some of my very favorites.

Even when I’m not camping or hiking, I love to read. Especially as we move into winter when it’s wet and cold I’m always on the hunt for a good book. Grab a hot cuppa, a warm blanket and cozy up because these books will have you headed on adventures right from your couch or favorite chair.
My love for the outdoors began when I was just a girl exploring the woods of our country home in Vermont. We often hiked and while I never did any long portions of the Appalachian, we often hiked sections. Just after I graduated high school, when I was at a time in my life where self-discovery was at the forefront of my mind, Bill Bryson published A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail. The book was the first of his to gain international attention and had certainly caught mine. Although in the end I was disappointed in his attitude on some things the book sparked a new desire in me to spend more time in the outdoors and when I couldn’t, spend more time reading about the outdoors.
