Christmas Crafting – Hosting a DIY Ornament Party

Sharing is caring!

My friend Alica and I have tossed around the idea of hosting a DIY ornament party for several years now.  Well this year, we finally did it.

Last Saturday, we got together with a few of our crafty friends for a full day of ornament making.

The rules are pretty simple.  There are 10 people in the group. Each person brings a completed handmade ornament to show the group. They also bring enough supplies to make 10 more ornaments.  Each person will then demonstrate how to make the ornament while the rest of the group follows along.  Everyone goes home with 10 completed handmade ornaments.

With all the food (Alicia and I provided breakfast and we did a potluck style lunch), the laughter and talking, it took about 6 hours from start to finish.

Here are some photos of the fun!

Everyone had really great ideas and the day was really enjoyable.  We listened to Christmas music, sipped on hot cider and just enjoyed slowing down a bit.
